Guiding Principles of the Conservative Christian Ideology: "Within our great nation of America exist two primary ideologies concerning the governing of the people. Most other ideologies fall along the spectrum between these two. These ideologies are represented by the Republican and Democratic national parties. Both parties have the same ideals in mind: reduction in social ills [such as illiteracy, poverty, crime, etc], maintenance of the welfare of the nation and defense of the nation against enemies foreign and domestic. The means to accomplish these ends however are unique to each party. The Republican party generally holds firm to the principle of local control while the Democratic party maintains centralized administration is the answer. Also, there is an underlying association between the RNC and capitalism and between the DNC and socialism.
Although we are both members of the Republican party, our opinions on authority are not in full agreement. Jonathan envisions the ideal government as one that leaves all matters to local authority with the exception of projects simply too vast and expensive for single cities, states or regions to handle (such as national defense). Jennifer accepts this ideal but broadens the projects left to centralized control to include those which have a profound impact upon an area greater than the local, state or regional lines (such as environmental policies).
